Susan and Keith will outline SOLOR team messaging, including:
What is SOLOR?
Why is SOLOR important?
Where is SOLOR going?
We intend to discuss SOLOR messaging during the SOLOR Video Conference on 5/23 and expect these points to be addressed during the meeting.
1. What is SOLOR?
SOLOR is foundation terminology content integrated into a common model. It is an integration of SNOMED CT, LOINC, RxNorm and other terminologies. A consistent representation is needed to find all equivalent concepts for decision support, and patient safety.
2. Why is SOLOR important?
SOLOR provides a consistent foundation on which to build decision support and improve patient safety. Otherwise, each decision support rule has to take into account all the different ways to represent the same thing, eliminates redundant efforts, reduces opportunity for omissions that may result in patient harm.
3. Where is SOLOR going?
Will continue to improve the integration of SNOMED CT, LOINC and RxNorm and provide the transformations and viewing capabilities for SOLOR Content. Our next steps are: to ensure uptake into existing terminology servers, continue to improve content, and pilot project.
Integrate multiple clinical terminologies into an integrated resource with a single versioned and modular model
Retrieval and identification of content using the original identifiers from the sources
Representation in an existing format (RF2) so that it can be easily ingested
