There is a need to standardize the naming (and structure) of data objects.

Option 1: <specimen type><lab test name><units>

example: Serum glucose in mmol per L

Special characters that are FEEL operators should be avoided since some model implementations may misinterpret.

Advantage: conveys specific meaning in diagram

Disadvantages: name length may be great; implies separate data objects for conventional and SI units
