February Meeting Schedule

Priority Item – Formation of the committees

Craig – Setting up Google groups.  Should be complete this week.

Oscar – Instead of voting at large on Committee Chairs, committees will select their Co-Chairs.  Individuals reporting to Oscar cannot be a Co-Chair (part of HSPC operations)

Craig – Groups will allow people to identify the committees they wish to participate in.

Oscar – Committees are Clinical use cases, architecture, sandbox, architecture, venture, marketing, finance.  Venture, marketing and finance committees will be appointed by the Board

Priority Item –  Tier 2 Messaging

 Oscar – Tier 1 is data virtualization.  Tier 2 is the services level.  We need clear messaging and examples of deployment.  Mayo may be able to provide a demonstration.

Priority Item –HIMSS Meeting

 Stan – Willing to speak about HSPC at times when he is not already scheduled. 

Oscar – We should publish a calendar of events at HIMSS. 

Stan – Should we respond to ONC call for participation in the Interoperability Showcase.

Oscar –  will follow-up with ONC re. inter operability showcase with support from Craig and Rick. 

Craig – We need to have a compelling demo.  This is coming along well.  We need to hand-outs and consistent messaging.

Craig will set up a meeting with Rick, Eileen, Oscar re. messaging. 

Rick – On last HIMSS coordination meeting,  Cerner has committed to get there services in place.  Epic has narrowed their commitment.  Epic was not sure if they would have booth space to demonstrate.  Rick has assured them that they would be visible in the demos at other locations.

Oscar – We are doing SMART today, but HSPC is open to others, e.g., Regenstreif, VA.  HSPC should make sure it is clear that multiple UI models will be accommodated. 

Rick – Epic will continue to develop their apps in preparation for HIMSS. 

Rick – We have a great suite of applications that can be demonstrated.  Messaging is the top priority for planning.

 Stan – The Intermountain check has been mailed. 

Oscar – Final steps completed to process payment.  Oscar is resending the invoice per VA instructions. 

Stan – No word from Regenstreif.  Waiting for Intermountain check to share with others.

Oscar – Oracle wants to be an associate member.  They have concerns about the arbitration clauses in the member agreement. 

Stan – If the member agreement is changed it will cause another round of legal review. 

Oscar – HSPC should stand on its own and there should not be additional liability for Intermountain.  This should be discussed by the HSPC Board. 

Stan – Will confer with Intermountain attorney on this issue.

Oscar – Did research on the 501c3 organization membership.  There is nothing specific on this.

 Oscar – We need funding to move this forward.  There are costs to generate and push out press releases.  The Board would like to have critical mass before having press release.

 Rick – Have gotten feedback from application developers.  Off of the main site there are links to content for developers.  This includes instructions and specifications.   Still need to publish profiles in a more accessible way.

Work is being done on the business processes and service definitions for tier 2.

Priority Item –  Intermountain Meeting on 02/20/15

 Oscar – A meeting was held last Friday at Intermountain.  The meeting was initiated by Jonathan Nebeker. Attendees included:  Jonathan Nebeker, Dr. Drew, Paul Nichol, Stan Huff, Peter Haug, Oscar Diaz, Craig Parker.  The Shreveport region has agreed to be the first site.  Paul is setting up a meeting with their CMIO and others.  Dr. Paka has reached out to LSU and sent an email to Dr. Clancy to provide an update.  Paul Nichol is identifying additional sites.  These include: Phoenix, Salt Lake, Seattle, Chicago, Baltimore, and possibly Indianapolis.  Discussion centered around deployment of clinical pathways.  Mayo and LSU clinical pathways can be used.  Will be using BPMN to model clinical decision making process.               

Craig – Need to put together a project management team.  This will blend the two groups.

Oscar – Need to define the KPIs as part of the VA contract.
