Problem Description | How might we build a reusable infrastructure that will be able to rapidly scale and apply it to an emerging infectious threat like COVID-19 as Clinical teams and family caregivers lack access to the right information at the right time in the right format through the right channel to prepare and respond to emerging infectious threats like COVID 19 leading to disjointed, inappropriate (unsafe) care delivery and poor outcomes for patients and those caring for them. We need a reusable digital infrastructure that supports rapid scale and application of data, information and knowledge that improves decisions and actions toward combatting infectious threats and leading to quality outcomes. | What is the problem or opportunity? Describe the project in a few sentences as in an elevator pitch. |
Target Users | Primary - Front line emerging infection staff (Clinicians, support staff), patients and caregivers | Who are you designing for? Be as specific as possible. Whom do you need to understand? Why are they important? |
Project Scope | Focused on the Ambulatory Setting including the following: | What is within the scope of the project and what is outside it? What efforts sit adjacent to this project? |
Constraints | Work with the homecare team to identify overlaps. Guidance is frequently changing/ evidence is emerging | What constraints do you need to work within? What requirements must a successful solution meet? |
Exploration Questions | What do frontline staff think is the highest priority? | What key questions will you need to answer through your research? |
Expected Outcomes | A reusable framework that can be stood up in less then a week upon the identification of an emerging infection. | What outcomes would you like to see? |
Success Metrics | Reduced mortality, better prepared healthcare workers, data informed decisions be made on accurate data to irradicate the infection spread. | How will you measure success? |
