Notes (raw)

Discussion about native Semantic Reference class or use the MDMI Business Element Reference.
MDMI 2.0 added a new semanticReference property to its class, it includes descriptive logic about the meaning of the item. references SOLOR.
MDMI is domain independent, but has a bridge for healthcare.
How should we metamodel this?
have a native class that duplicates MDMI?
or just reference MDMI - which is a different spec, owned by a different OMG TF (Healthcare TF, not BMI)TBD, and has its own lifecycle.
This is not a simple question, which should get AB guidance.
What are the implementation consequences?
We are not yet sure if the native semantic reference is attempting to do the same thing as MDMI.
To understand this, we do some examples in both and then compare.
We can go forward once we understand the equivalency (or not).
