Goals

- Address any Situational Data Requirements from the Field Guide and OMG Meetings
Discussion all comments on the Item Definition update proposal
- Update document as appropriate
- Identify next steps
Notes (raw)
Discussion about native Semantic Reference class or use the MDMI Business Element Reference.MDMI 2.0 added a new semanticReference property to its class, it includes descriptive logic about the meaning of the item. references SOLOR.
MDMI is domain independent, but has a bridge for healthcare.
How should we metamodel this?
have a native class that duplicates MDMI?
or just reference MDMI - which is a different spec, owned by a different OMG TF (Healthcare TF, not BMI), and has its own lifecycle.
This is not a simple question, which should get AB guidance.
What are the implementation consequences?
We are not yet sure if the native semantic reference is attempting to do the same thing as MDMI.
To understand this, we do some examples in both and then compare.
We can go forward once we understand the equivalency (or not).
Action items
Add action items to close the loop on open questions or discussion topics:
- Stephen White (Unlicensed) to create a few semantic reference examples using the SDMN SemanticReference properties.
- @Ken Lord to recreate the semantic reference examples using the MDMI BusinessElementReference properties.
