    • Core services, available and sharable between orgs

    • Governance between services ... perhaps most important

  4. Enterprise Arch Methodologies

    • There are many!

    • Need to have an approach for how HSPC will approach the problem 

    • This includes COMMON PRINCIPLES for defining the above

  5. SOA WG Scope

    • Enterprise Architecture 

    • Across institutions

    • Within domain of healthcare

    • EXCLUDE

      • Use Cases - functional requirements definition of common capabilities

      • Knowledge Architecture - how to represent, manage and organization content

      • Semantic Modeling

      • Tooling

Logistics Questions

  1. Is this the best meeting time?

    • Assuming this is true 

    • Could also sequence calls to different slots to accommodate international time zones

    • WG discussions should happen MORE FREQUENTLY than the weekly calls

  2. Add formal structure to the WG per the HSPC bylaws or organizational rules?

    • (Oscar) Need to have some guiding principles to help guide discussions

      • WG chair represented on the WG Steering Committee

    • QUESTION:  How do you elect WG Chairs?  Nominations?  Appointees?  Selection process?

      • (Craig) Based on HL7 ... most WG's have co-chairs, to help ensure smooth operations and to share the work load

  1. Leveraging SOA implementations in healthcare

    • Canada, Australia, others - including company internal

    • QUESTION: Can those experiences be shared (both architectures as well as methodology)

    • (Oscar) Jim Forbes indicated that he would participate in this committee

    • (Davide) Please invite any other SME's who should be participating in these meetings!

  2. ACTION:  Create topics to be discussed / materials to be reviewed
