Pressure Ulcer

Approach and Rationale:

  1. Health Factor Selection: We selected HFs around Pressure Injury to compare ANF conversion findings.

  2. We broke down the Health factor statements into chunks that capture the action of what was being performed or requested. Also, we put into consideration that each chunk can exist on its own and still retain its original intent and clarity of meaning

  3. After the chunking process, we can identify the topics of the ANF statement because they capture the action and are able to stand on their own.

  4. We proceed to populate the ANF fields from the chunk data sets

Highlighted Example:

“Pressure Injury Stage1(intact skin; nonblanchable redness)#4”

Discussion:  The modelers all approached documenting “Pressure Injury Stage1(intact skin; nonblanchable redness)#4” with some similarities and some differences.  Modeler 1 populated the ID field with the Health factor title while the others were unable to determine the specificity of the field.  The AssociatedStatement field was the most difficult for the modelers to determine with all having different answers (two of the modelers narrowed it to the same information but couldn’t specify whether to include more or less information).
